Volunteers

Volunteers!

Volunteers are the back bone of the Northern Women's Centre's operations. We have a number of volunteer roles throughout the year. If you like organizing or volunteering at events/awareness-raising activities (e.g. No Means No campaign, rape drug awareness, spa night, Jezebel's Jam, etc.), we want you! Also, if you like to write and/or take photos we could use your journalistic/artistic skills. For these and other roles please fill out a general NWC Volunteer application attached. Completed volunteer forms can be placed in the Volunteer Coordinator's inbox (on top of the filing cabinet in the NWC). Our Volunteer Coordinator will be in touch with you shortly thereafter.

The NWC is also looking for volunteers to support women in their time of need. Perhaps you are seeking to build your skills in the helping professions? If so, please fill out the attached NWC Shift Volunteer application. Screening and interviews will take place in September with Crisis Intervention training in Fall and Winter semesters provided by UNBC Counselling Services and NWC staff. Trained volunteers are required to do 2-3 hour shifts per week at the NWC. Completed shift volunteer forms can be placed in the Volunteer Coordinator's inbox (on top of the filing cabinet in the NWC). Our Volunteer Coordinator will be in touch with you shortly thereafter.
