Parent’s Resource Directory

Parent’s Resource Directory

The Parent’s Resource Directory is an in depth compilation of resource and service information for parents living in our community. Information from a multitude of organizations was collected from pamphlets, websites, guide books, etc. The directory was created to assist any parent in the community, male or female. There are programs, resources and funds existing in the community that supply much needed assistance to individuals in their time of need. The directory will act as a conduit to these resources and inform parents of the necessary people, services, support and information to give them a helpful hand up. There are twenty chapters ranging from aboriginal, children’s, counselling, employment, housing, legal, mental health and parenting services. Service providers will also find the directory to be similarly beneficial.

Jacqueline Moyse, Conference and Resource Development Coordinator with the Women Empowering Women Project 2007/08 researched and compiled information for the directory with input from staff and women from the Elizabeth Fry Society, AWAC shelter, The Phoenix Transition Society and the Northern Women’s Centre. The Parent’s Resource Directory can be downloaded from HERE.

Some hard copies are also available at the Women’s Centre empower@unbc.ca.

The directory was generously funded by Service Canada/Government of Canada.
